NIST International School Falcons Fencers excel at Thai Youth Fencing Championships Fri 15 Feb 2019

The Thai Fencing Federation held its annual Thai Youth Fencing Championships, the highest decorated match of the season at the Royal Thai Air Force Academy. The foil events U17 and U20 were held on 2-3 February, and the sabre events were held on 9-10 February. Mehta Judd (Y11) bagged in the first Bronze Medal in the U17 Boy’s Foil event for the Falcons Fencing Club after winning all his pool pre-elimination round. Quentin Geoffroy (Y11) won another 2nd bronze medal in the U20 Men Sabre category, finishing in 3rd place few points shy of victory in the semifinals. Quentin also participated in the U17 Boy’s Sabre event and secured a gold medal, with only one defeat in the pool-pre elimination round. Also represented NIST and securing top 5 finishes were Vicky Ongpipattanakul (Y10) and Pheem Intarakumthonchai (Y10)
